Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services for Adults

Eligibility

Weber Human Services currently provides services for Adult individuals who are eligible for Medicare or Medicaid, who reside in Weber and Morgan Counties.  Weber Human Services also provides Crisis Services for all residents of Weber and Morgan Counties, and services for individuals who are civilly committed.

Cost

There is no cost for services, except where co-pays apply, and when private insurances are billable.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are provided to eligible Weber Human Services clients experiencing ongoing clinical mental health and substance abuse issues. Outpatient services include individual and group therapy, psychological testing, behavior management, and medication management.  Also, clients are eligible for an array of other outpatient services listed below, based upon medical necessity.

Mental Health Inpatient

Inpatient services are offered to adults experiencing an acute need for psychological and/or psychiatric services. A multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment team will assist the client in identifying and alleviating acute symptoms.

Skills Development Services

Adult Skills Development Services (ASD) are rehabilitative services provided to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness in an outpatient setting, day treatment program, residential program or other appropriate setting. These services assist individuals in developing competence in basic living skills such as meal planning, shopping, food preparation, money management, mobility, grooming, personal hygiene and maintenance of a living environment.

Supported Training Employment Program (STEP)

The STEP House provides hands-on experience and job training to people with serious and persistent mental illness. Training is provided in a highly supervised working environment. Individuals are offered training and/or supervision in a variety of occupation skills and community locations in preparation for return to full or part-time employment status.

Targeted Case Management

Case management assists eligible clients with mental health or substance abuse disorders not only in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational and other services, but also ensures coordination between all agencies and providers involved in a client’s treatment.

Medication Management

These services are provided to individuals whose medical needs include prescribing, administering, monitoring, or reviewing medication and/or medication regime. 

Residential Services

Residential services are available, on a limited basis, to eligible WHS clients who are seriously and persistently mentally ill.

Specialized Rehabilitation Services (SRS)

These Services are offered to seriously and persistently mentally ill individuals who, for medical reasons, live in a nursing home or other assisted living facility and who also require mental health services.

Homeless Services

The homeless mentally ill are identified and assisted through community outreach and case management services.

Emergency Services

Agency hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Walk-ins after that can call 625-3700 24-hours a day.  In the event of a medical emergency, clients are encouraged to go directly to McKay-Dee Emergency Department.  Licensed professionals provide 24-hour emergency services with consultation available from a psychiatrist. Emergency services can be obtained by calling (801) 625-3700.

Weber Human Services and McKay Dee Hospital determine conjointly the need for psychiatric hospitalization.

  • Clients pay at the WHS front desk Services Provided
  • Photos taken for positive ID
  • UA taken
  • Samples are sent to Redwood Toxicology Laboratory
