Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for Youth and Their Families
Eligibility
Weber Human Services
currently provides services for Adult individuals who are eligible for Medicare
or Medicaid, who reside in Weber and Morgan Counties. Weber Human Services also
provides Crisis Services for all residents of Weber and Morgan Counties, and
services for individuals who are civilly committed.
Cost
There is no cost for
services, except where co-pays apply, and when private insurances are billable.
Outpatient
Services
Weber Human Services
provides outpatient treatment to children eligible for Medicare or Medicaid
between the ages of 0 through 18 and their families. Interventions include
individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and medication management
services.
Day
Treatment Services
Weber Human Service’s
Youth Day Treatment Program is licensed to serve 48 severe emotionally
disturbed youth between the ages of 12 through 18.
The Latency Day Treatment
Program provides a more intensive level of structure, supervision and
clinical intervention for youth between the ages of 6 through 12.
Day Treatment Programs are
designed to provide amore intensive level of structure, supervision and clinical
intervention than other outpatient alternatives. Services include individual,
family, and group therapy, individual and group behavior management, skills
development services, medication management, school experience, recreational
therapy, educational and vocational opportunities.
Residential Services
We contract with the
Division of Youth Corrections and the Division of Child and Family Services to
provide residential treatment for 16 severe emotionally disturbed youth between
the ages of 12 through 18. The program is designed to treat adolescent males
with a patterned, repetitious sexual offense history and acting out behavior.
Treatment components include best practice as outlined by Utah State Juvenile
Sex Offender’s Protocols and Standards (NOJOS). Components include individual,
family and group therapy, behavior management, medication management, skills
development services, and recreational therapy.
Autism
Program
The Northern Utah Autism
Program is a pre-school program for children diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive
Developmental Disorder (PDD). The program is divided into two classrooms of
twelve children each with one teacher, two aides, and two part-time assistants.
Programming focuses on attending behaviors and compliance, language and
cognition, self-help and social skills, and parent contact.
Family-Based Residential Care
Our Therapeutic Foster
Home/s will provide 24-hour family-based care, supervision and treatment
services in a family home setting for up to three children/youth who have
behavioral or adjustment problems.
Case
Management
Case management is a method
of helping children and their families coordinate and connect with valuable
resources; assess and develop a service plan; monitor service provision; and
advocate for child and family rights.
Family
Support/Respite Care
Respite care and family
support fives families of children with at risk behaviors the break that all
parents need from the demands of raising a family. Short term in-home and out of
home services are available.
Families
and Communities Together (FACT)
FACT is comprised of two
components: Coordinating Council (LICC) and Success by Six. Weber Human Services
is a working partner and strongly advocates and supports their efforts to
identify, assess, and provide service to at risk youth and their families.
Archway
Receiving Center
Weber Human Services is a
collaborative partner with the Archway Receiving Center. Clinicians have access
to the 24-bed facility for youth between the ages of 12 through 18 experiencing
emotional and/or behavioral problems that are disruptive in the home
environment. The program also offers a strong parenting component.
Family
Advocate
Weber Human Services is a
participant and a supporter of the Federal Outreach Project in the northern
region of the state. Allies with Families functions as a statewide family
support and advocacy network to ensure families are receiving the services they
need.
Substance
Abuse Youth Services
The Specialized Family
Services team provides substance abuse outpatient and intensive outpatient
therapy to youth and families in a variety of treatment contexts.
Evidence-based family therapy is the primary service delivered, with structured
group treatment utilized to support the work done with families. Interventions
target the multiple systems impacting the client’s life. Treatment is provided
in the context of standard outpatient services, a court-ordered Probation State
Supervision program, Juvenile Drug Court program and the Early Intervention
Program (EIP) designed for youth in custody. With the exception of the EIP
program, family therapy is offered in the home of the client.
Emergency
Services:
Agency hours are 8:00 a.m. –
5:00 p.m. Walk-ins after that can call 625-3700 24-hours a day. In the event
of a medical emergency, clients are encouraged to go directly to McKay-Dee
Emergency Department. Licensed professionals provide 24-hour emergency services
with consultation available from a psychiatrist. Emergency services can be
obtained by calling (801) 625-3700.
Weber Human Services and
McKay Dee Hospital determine conjointly the need for psychiatric
hospitalization.
